A
dark, nicely re-lacquered example of a prized Conn tenor
from 1925. Named after the great sax player from the period, Leon
"Chu" Berry, the instruments bearing his name were never so
designated by the factory but were put on the horn by
musicians of the day. The horn is in good shape and
has received a full
overhaul from the
This Old Horn shop. It is in fine condition and gig ready.
Several top professionals use the Chu for its
strong sound and soulful intonation. A great axe for blues, jazz
or rock.
Ships in the usual stinky old plywood and
felt vintage case. If you aren't crazy about dealing with the early trunk
case (smells, condition, poor protection for the instrument) we
have a great Chinese made ProTec style, zipper, hard sided foam case
available for an additional $75. We recommend this case very highly
and we love to ship in them because then we are certain there will
be no damage.
