This nice old Selmer is a fine quality
re-lacquer with no visible buffing. We had to get out the
magnifying glass to make the decision to sell it as a re-lac.
The engraving is very sharp and
the color is perfect for a horn of this age.
There is one very small repaired pea dent on the body
by the neck ring and a few tiny dinks in the neck itself. The
horn has had a very recent overhaul and all pads,
corks and springs are in good condition. The instrument is an
excellent player and its sound holds up to its pedigree serial
number. In all, a very fine Mark VI in very way.
This serial number falls into the range of
horns preferred by such greats as Sonny Rollins and is a joy to
take on the gig because of its fine appearance and straight ahead
Mark VI sound. At this price it's a solid gold investment in a
horn that will last the rest of your playing life.
All our horns now ship in a ProTec style, zipper
closure, hard sided, foam
case
unless otherwise instructed. We recommend this case very highly
and we love to ship in them because then we are
confident there will be no damage.
However, if you feel that you want an original, period trunk case, we have them
available at no additional charge.
Have a look at these cases at:
CASES or
from the Home page under
Accessories.
