A good looking example of a 1974 Mark VI
with about 80% of its original lacquer intact and shining. The
engraving, unusually deep and sharp for a Mark VI, is in
particularly good condition and of the "American" pattern. Other
than micro-scratches throughout, the lacquer wear is mostly
confined to the left side of the body which speaks to the horn
having been played sitting quite a lot. There are a couple of
professionally executed re-solders on lower key guards only and
what we reckon to be some evidence of dent removal on the bow,
again professionally done.
Very good pads, corks and felts and a fine
setup that makes the playing easy. If you are looking for a
good-looking, solid Mark VI that has that fine characteristic
sound and feel, this might be a horn you should consider. Give
Rob a call at 859 657-6341 and talk it over.
All our horns now ship in a ProTec style, zipper
closure, hard sided, foam
case
unless otherwise instructed. We recommend this case very highly
and we love to ship in them because then we are
confident there will be no damage.
However, if you feel that you want an original, period trunk case, we have them
available at no additional charge.
Have a look at these cases at:
CASES or
from the Home page under
